Why buy used CDs and DVDs? Compact Discs and DVDs are perfect items to buy used because they never wear out. A CD or DVD sounds or looks the same after the millionth play as it did when it was new. Is shopping online at The CD Exchange safe? Absolutely. Please read our Privacy Statement for more details about this. Can I place an order without a credit card? Yes, we accept checks and money orders if you don't want to use a credit card. When you go through the check-out procedure, you will be given this option. Just choose "Check/Money Order" and then follow the instructions provided. Can I fax my order to you? Yes you can. We realize that some people are still reluctant to send their credit card information over the net, no matter how secure it really is. That's why we offer you the option of sending your order via FAX. When you select "Checkout" from your shopping cart, you'll be given this option. If you select it, your browser will return a printable version of your final order form, along with instructions for faxing it to us. Then you can fill in the credit card details offline and fax the order. It's very easy to do and you don't need to worry about putting your credit card info on the net. Will you sell or give out my personal information? We will NEVER sell or give out any of your personal information, including your EMail address. How long have you been in business? The CD Exchange has been selling used CDs on the Web since 1994, long before most people had ever even heard of the World Wide Web. We began selling DVDs in 2000. Where is The CD Exchange located? Do you sell new CDs & DVDs? No, we only sell previously-owned CDs & DVDs, but they're in like-new condition, and way cheaper. That's the whole idea! Where do you get your CDs and DVDs from? All of our inventory come from our customers trading in their old CDs and DVDs for cash or store credit. Click here if you'd like to do the same. It's easy! How do I know the CDs & DVDs aren't scratched? We visually inspect all CDs & DVDs before accepting them to be sure they are in excellent condition, and then clean them thoroughly. Most of them are indistinguishable from brand new ones. Since they are used though, some may have extremely minor (barely noticable) surface markings, but all discs are 100% guaranteed to play perfectly. If you ever get a CD or DVD from us that skips in your player, please contact us within 30 days and we will happily give you a prompt refund. Do the CDs include books and back covers? Always, unless clearly marked otherwise. Do the CDs come in jewel cases? Our CDs are shrink-wrapped in BRAND NEW jewel cases. All CDs shipped within the US include the cases, but shipments outside the US will NOT include cases in order to reduce shipping costs. This is standard industry practice when shipping CDs internationally, as the case usually accounts for 75% of the weight of a CD. Please see our Shipping Rates & Information page for more information. Are your CDs & DVDs guaranteed? Of course. We take great care to offer only CDs & DVDs that are in excellent condition, and we take great pride in how rarely our customers need to return something. Unfortunately, the world is an imperfect place, and there is a slim chance that a CD or DVD you buy from us will not play perfectly for you. No problem! Just contact us within 30 days for a prompt refund or exchange. How often do you update your website? We add new titles to our inventory every day. Our website is updated almost every day as well, occasionally every other day. What methods of shipping do you use? We offer the choice of Standard Shipping (7-14 days average), Priority Mail (2-4 days average) or FedEx 2-Day Express (2 Days Guaranteed) for shipments within the USA. International shipments are always sent via Air Mail (5-15 days average). How long will my order take to arrive? See above. How much does the shipping cost? Shipping from The CD Exchange is ABSOLUTELY FREE anywhere in the world if your order is over $25 ($50 for international orders). For orders smaller than that, please see our Shipping Rates & Information page for details. Is there any place you don't ship to? We ship CDs anywhere on the planet. We do not ship DVDs outside the USA, unless it is to a US military address (in which case you can choose "Standard Shipping" or "Priority Mail" as your shipping method). How do I sell my old CDs and DVDs to you? Selling your old CDs and DVDs to The CD Exchange is a great way to get some extra cash by getting rid of those old discs that you never listen to anyway, and we'll pay you top dollar for them. Simply click here for CDs (or here for DVDs) and fill out the online form, listing the discs that you wish to sell. Within a few hours we will send you a return EMail stating the prices we are willing to pay for each of your discs, along with instructions for shipping them to us if you decide to accept our offer. Once your items are received, we will send you a confirmation EMail and send your check out that same day. It's easy! How do you determine how much my discs are worth? The amount we can pay you for your discs (and the prices we charge when selling them) is determined by supply and demand. We can pay the most for titles that people are always looking for but seldom wish to sell. We can't pay as much for titles that people are always getting rid of and very few people are looking for. Who pays the shipping costs? We will offer you extra money to cover the shipping costs if your quote is $25 or more. Since we put the CDs in brand new cases anyway, we encourage you to ship the CDs to us WITHOUT their cases, which makes it very inexpensive. Of course, you must include the booklets and all literature. Are there any CDs you won't accept? How about DVDs? Please see the Guidelines clearly posted above the online form used to list your items. The Guidelines explain in detail which items we can and cannot accept. Is there a limit to how many I can sell?
