We take our customers' rights to privacy very seriously. This page will tell you our official policies regarding the privacy and security of your personal information.
Credit Card Information
When you place an order with us, the shopping cart page where you check out is located on a SECURE server. This means that all the information on this page is sent to us in an encrypted form, making it unreadable to anyone else along the way.
As an added measure of security, your credit card number is actually split in half before it is sent. Only the first half of your credit card number is actually sent to us along with your order. The last 6 digits (and ONLY the last 6 digits) are sent to the Americart server where they are stored until we retrieve them (password required of course).
We do not store your credit card information in our computers, so you will have to submit it each time you place an order. While this may be a bit inconvenient for our repeat customers, we feel that the security benefits far outweigh this minor inconvenience.
With this system, it is absolutely impossible for a hacker to intercept your credit card number, since your number is split in half on its route to us. Shopping on the internet using a system such as this is MUCH safer than giving the sales clerk your credit card in a retail store, or giving it to a waiter or waitress in a restaurant.
Faxing Your Order
We do realize that some people are still reluctant to send their credit card information over the net, no matter how secure it really is. That's why we offer you the option of sending your order via FAX. When you go through the checkout process, you'll be given this option. If you select it, your browser will return a printable page, then you can fill in the credit card details offline and fax the order. It's very easy to do and you don't need to worry about putting your credit card info on the net.
Personal Information
We will NEVER give or sell any of your personal information (including EMail addresses) to anyone. Period.
